Lunch 02.12.08

February 13, 2008

lunch-06.jpgThe snow is melting, the birds are singing and the cars are creating this lovely mist resulting in a polka dot camera and sunglasses. Having lived in Calgary for the past 8 years I’d forgotten how early Spring starts here. Or that there is one for that matter! (Sorry Sandi, but it’s true. We have spring here). It’s already warm now and from what I’ve been told and remember there isn’t much danger of another cold snap and blizzard. And it’s only February.

While that might be a bit optimistic, I’ll remind you that I just came back to the Okanagan from Calgary. Enough said? Good. I like it here. I’m glad to be home.

lunch-05.jpgI’m also glad to have this big, empty, grassy, snowy field near work to tramp around in. It would be more pleasant if it wasn’t for the dumpers that think it’s their own personal dump, but it’s a little oasis right across the street from civilization. Look one way and you’re looking into apple orchards, looming hills and a vast, blue sky. Turn around and you find the aforementioned thouroughfare of mist producing traffic and malls. Really, it’s an oasis and a contradiction, but all the same, I’m glad it’s here.

lunch-04.jpgI’m still working on choosing a gallery that I won’t want to replace next week. I’ve done enough of that quite frankly. At any rate, I’ll have something setup by the end of the week that will have larger and more pictures from this series.
